THE SEKOU CAMARA LIBRARY

is a Yeredon’s Historical + Cultural Preservation collection named after Sekou Camara, Malian scholar, artist and dear family friend, who passed away in 2012. The Sekou Camara Library’s physical and digital archives include popular and rare books on the Bambara language and Malian Dance + Music + Culture. With audio and video collections of performance, ritual, music, and other ethnographic resources, Centre Yeredon is a premiere research hub for international scholars interested in expanding their expertise around West African History + Culture, Black Diasporic Dance + Music, as well as the rich fabric of pre-colonial and post-colonial tradition, from the arts, language and spirituality to earthwork and other forms of ancestral wisdom.
